A World of Caregiving Resources & Support at Your Fingertips

How Our Caregiving Journey Began

I was once in your shoes.  When I began my role as a caregiver twenty years ago, there was so much that I couldn't possibly know or anticipate about this new responsibility.  All I knew was that I needed to educate myself on how to navigate a myriad of personal, logistical, financial, and medical issues very quickly.

As a sudden caregiver, I was overwhelmed and filled with anxiety, knowing that I shouldered an enormous responsibility of helping my mother with her illness and her changing needs while managing my own life.  There was so much to do, and I needed support but didn't always know where to ask for help.

I created Our Caregiving Journey for this reason.

My hope is to alleviate your stress, anxiety, and overwhelm by providing legal, financial, and health care resources for the many decisions you will face.  At Our Caregiving Journey, you will receive practical advice from an experienced caregiver.  Relevant and timely information will be provided via blogs and helpful resources all within the privacy of this site.

Let’s face it...sometimes you will not have the support you want from your loved one or family members.  Having a compassionate and empathetic tribe of caregivers can be useful when others do not always agree or cooperate with the recommended course of care.  The caregiver community can offer sound advice based on their own experiences.

Lastly, I'd like you to consider Our Caregiving Journey community to be your private safe space.  We recognize your personal needs exist and are meaningful.  While you must balance the needs of your loved one with your own, this is a place where we take care of you, so you show up in the best way possible for your loved one and for yourself.

We see and hear you.  Let us know how we can help you navigate your caregiving journey.

TESTIMONIALS

“It's comforting to know that other people are dealing with some of the same situations I am. Seeing how others are navigating the caregiving process has been extremely beneficial. What an amazing resource.”
